Abstract

Abstract

The rapid development of the business world in an increasingly competitive environment requires companies to continuously improve the quality of human resources as one of the main factors in achieving organizational goals. Administrative staff play an important role in supporting the smooth operation of a company; therefore, improving their abilities and skills through appropriate job training programs is essential. This study aims to analyze the implementation of job training and its contribution to improving the performance of administrative staff at Toyota Auto 2000 Plaju Palembang. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques consisting of observation, interviews, and documentation conducted during the internship period. The collected data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that Toyota Auto 2000 Plaju Palembang has implemented job training programs periodically for administrative staff, both for new employees and existing employees. The training was conducted through various methods, including direction from supervisors, mentoring by experienced employees, discussions, and direct work practices. The implementation of job training had a positive impact on improving administrative staff performance, as indicated by increased understanding of duties and responsibilities, improved accuracy in document management, better ability to operate the company’s administrative systems, and greater effectiveness in completing tasks. In addition to improving technical skills, training also enhanced employees’ confidence in dealing with changes in work systems and procedures. This study concludes that job training plays an important role in supporting the improvement of administrative staff performance at Toyota Auto 2000 Plaju Palembang. However, this study is limited by the scope of the research object, which only covers one company, and the limited observation period. Future research is recommended to apply quantitative or mixed-method approaches with broader research subjects to obtain more comprehensive findings regarding the relationship between job training and employee performance.
